Heritage from two family-owned businesses
CM Biomass was founded in 2009 as part of the Copenhagen Merchants Group, and quickly established itself as a leader in the global biomass market. In 2021, the USTC Group acquired a 60% majority stake, marking its formal entry into the renewable energy sector through a strategic, long-term partnership.
In 2023, USTC increased its ownership to 89% reflecting growing alignment and a shared vision for the company’s future. The remaining shares are held by members of the founding family and senior executives, ensuring continued leadership continuity and operational focus.
Today, CM Biomass operates as an independent entity within the USTC Group, contributing to its broader commitment to energy, logistics, and sustainability.
